Why do we include rotation in our EMEA Graduate Programme?
With a culture which encourages entrepreneurship and initiative, we know that you will always want to improve your knowledge, skills, and professional competence. That’s why at Colliers we are committed to the life-long learning of our people. Because of this, our structured training programme provides you with an array of training and development opportunities.
How rotation works
As a graduate surveyor at Colliers, you will benefit from the opportunity to build your experience across a wide range of services and specialisations across the EMEA region. You will initially live in your home country, where you have the right to work, for 12 months. Following this, you will move abroad for six months and experience what it is like to work in a different service line and country. You will have a final six-month period in an additional international location, before returning home. You will have gained a wealth of experience and be ready to pursue your career at Colliers as a Chartered Surveyor.
The main benefits
When you first join a company as dynamic and exciting as Colliers you may have fixed ideas of where you feel you will fit within the company and which discipline within Real estate interests you. By spending an initial 12 months developing your career in your home country, gaining experience and contacts whilst also learning and developing your skills you will quickly be able to get involved in the culture of our exciting environment. Our EMEA Graduate Programme has been developed to give you the best opportunities to develop your career in the direction which most interests you. You are given the chance to work and live in two other countries, and gain life experience along the way.
Living and Working in a new environment
Working in a new country gives graduates on the scheme a fresh perspective on many aspects of the industry, where Real Estate practices can differ across the region. Experiencing these differences can be illuminating and can even inspire changing your approach elsewhere. Likewise, rotation between different departments or disciplines within Colliers can help you decide how you would like your career to develop. There are regular office social events which are a great way to meet other members of the company and learn about the different areas you can explore.
On a personal level, living and working in a new country is exciting and spending time with new people and different cultures will help your own social development alongside that of your professional career.
Opportunities for Development
You will be encouraged and mentored along the way to help you gain valuable experience, contacts and skills throughout the grad programme giving you a better understanding of the business, how different teams work and how their specialities integrate within the company. Once you are onboard with Colliers you are welcomed as a valuable member of the team, and we do everything to ensure you are supported throughout your career. Colliers enables everyone to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to be confident and effective in their role through mentoring, a strong team ethic and structured development pathways tailored to you.
